If you have extra apples lying around that need to be used up, or you are looking for a light and healthy snack, consider giving apple chips a try. With only two ingredients, they are easy to make, all natural, and extremely tasty!
Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 2 hour Total time 2 hr 5 mins Serves: 2-4
- 2-3 apples
- cinnamon to sprinkle
- Preheat oven to 225 F
- Using a mandoline food slicer or a sharp knife, thinly slice apples. The thinner the better.
- Line two or three baking sheets with parchment paper. Spread apple slices out in a single layer. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Cook for 60 minutes, or until the apple slices start to curl around their edges and start to golden slightly. If apples are still a bit spongy, flip apple slices over and continue to cook for another 30 to 60 minutes until apple slices are crispy. The cooking time will depend largely on how thin the apples are sliced, as well as how juicy the apple is, so it is best to keep an eye on the apples slices once you hit the 1 hour 30 minute mark to make sure they don’t burn. Once the apple slices are crispy, remove from heat and cool on a baking rack.
